Recorded in upstate New York in an unfinished farmhouse, You Should Know By Now is an indie pop song that is tender but terse. “I tried to capture a tone that’s lovingly blunt, like the way you talk to the people you’re closest with,” says Slipp. The song, which features Ian Chang (Moses Sumney, Son Lux) on drums, describes the second guessing that goes on early in a relationship, with Slipp arriving at the chorus laying all the cards on the table.
